2nd National Conference on Materials Chemistry and Renewable Energy

The characterisation of materials developed by analysing surfaces and interfaces as well as structure can lead to a large number of catalytic applications in the fields of energy, the environment and speciality chemistry. In order to carry out fundamental research into the development and characterisation of materials, it is also essential to master the methods of preparation, fine characterisation of materials and their implementation. Mixed oxide catalysis is an important area for the development of heterogeneous catalysts used in a variety of applications. Because of their diverse properties and also their thermal stability, these mixed oxides can be used either as supports or directly as catalysts. The physico-chemical properties of materials in their raw state are of great importance, but they can be significantly improved by heat or chemical treatment. These materials can be tested for their ability to recover pollutants or toxic and harmful species, which represents a very important contribution to environmental protection. In addition to the experimental work, modelling and the development of numerical calculations are used to simulate the operation of these solids. In order to evolve in these areas of research, we have created a laboratory comprising four (04) teams whose main themes are o Elaboration and Characterisation of Materials o Reactivity of Materials and Catalysis o Materials applied to the environment o Theoretical modelling of nanostructures
