Social spaces are considered to be one of the most important characteristics of the urban character, we can say that they are the social register in which the different characteristics of the social system emerge. At the same time, these spaces contribute to an effective role in the interaction of its members and the creation of close links between them through the various functions they fulfill. Public space designates all spaces includes various elements such as social relations, the environment, the position of beings and their freedom, their practical daily life, their habits and others.
Public spaces are one of the basic conditions which allow social interaction, within certain limits required by the situation entrusted to this space. Indeed, research in the semantics of space as engineering which crystallizes the various representations and perceptions of individuals. It is appropriate to emphasize that the production of practices is determined by the position occupied by the actor in the social space as well as the field in which these practices take place, without forgetting the legal and economic status of space. Because the latter is an important area in order to observe the behavioral and interactive patterns of individuals. Space is therefore a collective production and is part of social life.
Public space is defined in a global way as a place open to all to make use of it and to profit from it, whether material or symbolic, in order for the individuals there to adopt certain behaviors according to the situation in which they find themselves. Thus, the latter interact and exchange their positions, opinions and concerns in full public on questions which may concern public affairs.
There are many public spaces and the functions of each of them vary, as do the representations and practices of the individuals who compose them and which differ according to the privacy of each.
